If you’re looking for a group with whom to quest, or require some help with a particularly difficult boss, join our teamspeak. With 10+ players in the Diablo channel over the last couple of nights, our teamspeak server has been a hotspot for Pick up Games. Jump in and slay some demons.
Diablo 3 Release
Come check us out at the Langford Future Shop location where we’ll be counting down to the midnight D3 release with some good old Diablo 2. From 9 PM Monday until midnight, we’ll be running 4 man Diablo runs with premade characters. The team with the fastest time will go home with some swag. Computers are provided.
BCGamer TF2 Update
I noticed the other day that the statistics page for TF2 wasn’t updating. After some investigation, I realized that the plugin was VERY dated. Stats have now been overhauled. The database and web interface now both rest on the same machine as the Team Fortress server itself. Check out THIS LINK to see the entire interface, or THIS LINK for a demo of what you’ll see on the server’s MOTD page.
I’ve also realized that I need some practice.

Gaming on Linux
Well, FINALLY Linux is getting some pretty solid support for gaming. Publisher Valve’s Gabe Newell confessed that the game maker will be bringing Steam and the Source Engine to Linux. They currently have a working prototype running on Ubuntu 11.10 with ATI’s Catalyst Drivers. The first title to be ported will be Left 4 Dead 2.
Some Valve employees have dabbled in moving Steam to Linux, but Gabe is now pushing his company to the new platform. I can’t wait to check it out. The full article can be found Here.

Dishonored
Well, without actually seeing any real game play footage, can’t be sure that this title will be any good, but it comes from Bethesda, and the trailer gets an A+.
Minecraft part 2
The server is now in full swing, ready to accept any who dare to join. A central portal hub has been erected in a separate world (on the same server). Today, I ran a full render on Dynmap. What’s this mean? Well, if you’ve seen the live online render you’ve probably noticed a ton of black squares where there should instead be map. This full server render fixes that (YAY!). I hope to see you online soon!

Minecraft
Recently, we’ve moved away from a “pro hosting” package for minecraft in order to bring you better up time, and quicker service. It’s now hosted at my home, with decent upload (not as good as what we had, but it works). I’ve also put on a management software (Multicraft) that anyone can look at to find out who’s on, if the server is up, etc. Multicraft streamlines administration, but has only 10 player slots for the free license. The first tier paid version is only $10 and will allow us unlimited player slots on 2 servers. I’d throw down for that.
